VICTIM #2: Koizumi Mahiru
So it has come to my attention that someone has been taking gifs from my blog and reposting them on weheartit. Honestly, I normally would have no problem with this if it was stuff that I made, cuz the credit was given, but the gif they posted was not mine but they gave credit to my blog. While I realize it says “content found from” on weheartit and it shows who the original poster is on my blog, I’m honestly worried that the people who make gifs that I reblog might see these sorts of things and get angry with me about something I didn’t do.
So whoever it is, I’m honestly not mad at you, but I suggest you at least give the creator the proper credit because they might not like their gifs being reposted, though asking the creator first is always a polite thing to do and you should seriously consider that as step one. Personally, if anyone wants to take any of the gifs I make and put them on different websites, while I’d prefer if you asked first, it really doesn’t bother me so long as you give the proper credit (that being said, please don’t repost my gifs back onto Tumblr, cuz that’s just not needed). I don’t watermark my gifs because one: I don’t think my gifs are that good in the first place, and two: I think they’re ugly and distract from the gif, especially considering I didn’t create the original content that they’re from, so I’d like to keep it that way without worry of people stealing my gifs. It should also be noted that any gif I post that I personally created is tagged #mygifs and appears in the “My Gifs” tag page on my blog, so there is no confusion as to what I made and what I’ve just reblogged.
